What began as a youth fellowship group in 1948, rehearsing and performing plays in a post World War II Birmingham, has grown year on year.
After only performing Gilbert and Sullivan shows for a decade, the group adopted the name 'Queensbridge' and branched out to other works and styles of performance. In 1973 the society moved from the Queensbridge School Hall to the Old Rep Theatre in Birmingham City Centre. With shows ranging from The Card to Grand Duchess winning local awards, growing its community. After our final show at the Old Rep, Charlie Girl in 1994, the society moved to its current performance space: The Core Theatre, Solihull. Since then, we have performed shows such as Oklahoma, Sister Act, Oliver, and Little Shop of Horrors. The society has survived through thick, thin, and a global pandemic to put on shows for its ever supportive audience. With children as young as 5 and adults as old as 80 singing, dancing and entertaining, QMTS welcomes friends from every walk of life to join our 'QMTS family'.
Currently, we perform one musical and one concert per year. We aim to bring a variety of shows to life including classic 'Golden Age' musicals as well as more modern styles.
